Mohamed Muthasim Adnan of Swimming Association of Maldives has made history as he has qualified for the Youth Olympic Games to be held in Nanjing/China from 16th till 28th August 2014 as the first ever Maldivan to have achieved this for Youth Olympics.
In preparation for the upcoming games, Muthasim is still continuing his training at Sri Lanka under a scholarship awarded by the Maldives Olympic Committee alongside several others. Among the 4 slot awarded to Maldives for the Youth Olympic Games, Muthasim is yet the only one who has guaranteed his chance of participation after been awarded a qualification spot.
So far this year has been one of the most interesting and most achieving year, as several athletes training aborad under the MOC Elite and Young Athletes Training Scholarship program has already shown their merit and development in their respective sports and Muthasim one other that gets added up in the list. It is indeed an honor for the MOC to congratulation Muthasim on his outstanding achievement.
