The two swimmers Aminath Sajan and Aishath Sajina, who were awarded a Training Scholarship from the International Swimming Federation, FINA has departed today on the 4th of June 2014 to start their training. The scholarship was awarded by FINA under the Targeting RIO 2016 program and is held at Thanyapura in Phuket/Thailand.
The two swimmers are recognized amongst the best female swimmers in the national squad of the Maldives.
The training Program is created to improve performance by building strength and power, while also identifying and addressing areas of weakness and instability to help decrease the potential for injury. It also focuses on creating greater functional movement to support the physical demands athletes face in sports.
MOC would like to congratulate the Maldivian swimmers and we look forward to watching their success with pride in the next phase of their training program.
