Indian high commission today has become the second entity to pledge for the program “Partners for MV Sports”.
Mr. Akhilesh Mishra, Indian High commissioner appointed to the Maldives greatly supported the initiative taken by the Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) towards the development of sports in the Maldives. As a means to support the program, Mishra stated that he will do everything in his power to make this program a success thereby allowing local athletes to benefit from it.
In his statement Mishra indicated that he was able to observe the performance of Maldivian Athletes at the South Asian Games held in Guwahati/India earlier this year. As such Mishra quoted that, he his more than willing to communicate with the respective high performance centers in India to facilitate the placement of Maldivian athletes. With the majority of Maldives population falling in the age category of 35, he noted that sports play a vital role in the development of Maldives. Intrinsically to work towards the development of sports in the Maldives, Mishra assured that he will fully support the Partners for MV Sports program introduced by MOC.
